About

In 1994, Compassion HomeCare began as a small home-based business in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland.

The Noel family operated and grew the business into one of Newfoundland and Labrador’s largest, most-respected Home Care Agencies mainly because of their integrity, work ethic and professional expertise. A government-approved, Home Support Worker Training Program was developed by their Nurse Manager and implemented for employees. Continuing education and client/staff safety became a priority goal for Compassion HomeCare.

Compassion HomeCare quickly became a leader within the Home Care Sector, raising the bar for standards and quality and also, lobbying Government on behalf of employees for better working conditions and wages.

In 1995 Compassion HomeCare opened a branch office in Bay Roberts, to serve the people of Conception Bay North.

In 1996 a branch office opened in Marystown to service the rural area of Burin Peninsula.

In 1998 the St. John’s office moved into its present location, 255 LeMarchant Rd., St. John’s.

In 2006 Compassion HomeCare was awarded “national accreditation status” by The Canadian Council on Health Services Accreditation (CCHSA).

In 2009 Compassion HomeCare expanded to Corner Brook to service Western NL.

In 2010 Compassion HomeCare expanded again to include Gander to service Central NL.

In November 2011 Compassion HomeCare continued to expand and now provides service to the Clarenville area.

In 2016 Compassion HomeCare opened an office in Grand Falls/Windsor.

In April 2018 Compassion HomeCare expanded our services on the west coast and opened an office in Deer Lake.

In June 2018 Compassion HomeCare successfully achieved Primer Accreditation Status with Accreditation Canada with an overall score of 94% when compared against national standards.

In September 2018 Compassion HomeCare extended our services by opening our 9th office in Paradise.

In August 2019 Compassion HomeCare opened our 10th office in Harbour Grace.

In November 2020 Compassion HomeCare achieved Accreditation with Commendation status with a 96%.

In July 2021 Compassion HomeCare in GFW moved locations to 28B Cromer Avenue, the new location will help provide better service to clients and staff in the area.

On January 1st, 2023, Compassion HomeCare opened our 11th office in St. Anthony, extending our services to Labrador Grenfell Health Authority.

Because of caring and dedicated office and field staff, Compassion HomeCare is enabling people to live at home with “safety”, “dignity” and “quality of life”!
